Property Projects

This page outlines the following exciting projects that are going to take place at our school over the next 6-18 months.

The aim of these projects is to provide exciting and inspiring learning environments for our students.  These environments will be targeted to meet the needs of modern learners.

Room 1-4 Refurbishment
Rooms 1-4 will be upgraded. The wall linings will be replaced and doors will be installed so that you will be able to be seen from one end of the block to the other.  A new shared learning space will also be created where the current cloak bays are.  Cloak bay spaces will be created within the classrooms.  The internal break out spaces will be made more accessible and visible.  A Type 4 Fire Alarm will also be installed to ensure the building meets current safety standards.

Te Tipu New Entrant Block
The Te Tipu block will be completely refurbished with glass paneling and sliding doors splitting the room in two.  Two sets of external double sliding doors will be added to allow the students to enjoy the outdoor areas.  Sliding doors will be placed between Rooms 9 and 10 to allow the whole block to be opened up, or single learning areas to be created.  This will be an outstanding reception area for our young people.

The Te Tipu refurbishments will align with the Walker Learning Approach. More information can be found on this approach within this site. Please follow the link - Walker Learning Approach.

If you are considering Lytton Street School as the school of choice for your five year old please come in and talk to us about our fantastic New Entrant classes.

New Library
The new library will be created within the existing one.  Both internal offices and the toilet will be removed to create one long library that outlooks over the school field.  Two sets of opening doors will enable the students to make use of the outdoor learning areas.

There will also be some fun creative aspects added to our new library such as a lego pit and construction area.
