Our Parent Teacher Association is actively involved at Lytton Street School. An Annual General Meeting is held in the first term and committee meetings are held monthly. Fundraising activities include making and selling Lamingtons, Chocolate Pet sales and every second year we usually hold a Gala.

In conjunction with our Centenary held in 2001, Lytton Street School launched an excellent Cook Book of "tried and true" recipes collected from staff, pupils and families of our school community. The Book is available for sale for $5.

LYTTON STREET SCHOOL'S GALA
What an amazing Gala! Hundreds of people gathered on a fine afternoon to have lots of fun, join in heaps of activities and buy goodies from the many stalls. A large amount (around $5000) was raised for school equipment and resources. Well done to our harding working PTA and to all of you who turned out to support the Gala.
A poem from some PTA members:

Lytton Street Gala - a success you say?
We say too, Hip Hip Hooray!!
To all our supporters on the day,
“You were fantastic” is all we can say!
When rain threatened, stall organiser Lorna,
Moved the stalls into every corner.
The rain it started to splutter.... then stopped,
The candyfloss flossed and the popcorn popped. There are so many of you we'd like to mention
Special thanks if you took a time extension.
The choir was great, you had the hall hopping,
Along with the Maori Performance Group...
You had us all bopping.
To the fire brigade and all their ‘snow’,
The kids thought you were great.....
They all said so!
The PTA’s president got a sponge in the face,
Boy that secretary’s aim was ace!
Thanks one and all for coming our way
We’ll invite you back to our next Gala day!
