VACANCY : BASIC SCALE TEACHER

  

Commencing April 2010

 

POSITION

·         The position will be part of a team of Teachers under the professional supervision of the Second Deputy Principal (Junior Jets Team Leader).

 

·         The position is most likely to be a Fixed Term position for 2010 (April – December), teaching a Year 1-2 class.  Note:  This is NOT suitable for a Beginning Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION FRAMEWORK

·         Teach a Year 1-2 Class, developing in all children a love of learning, an appreciation of quality standards, and an acceptance of excellence as achievable and desirable goals.

 

·         Establish and maintain excellent relations with parents/caregivers, other service providers and the community.

 

·         Work with a team of dedicated professionals in establishing sound teaching practices, quality learning programmes and an enjoyable, safe and positive environment.

 

·         Develop current skills and investigate new areas of professional development, benefitting Lytton Street School and its learning community.

 

·         Identify and nurture the culture of the school, which values the child as the focus of our attention.

 

·         Provide a full range of learning activities for all children, across a broad spectrum of ability, home background and social/emotional/behavioural circumstances.

 

·         Maintain evaluation and assessment records, following Lytton Street School’s pupil monitoring and tracking processes.

·         The most suitable candidates will be chosen.

 

·         The Appointment Team will comprise the Principal and both Deputy Principals.

·         Ad appears in Education Gazette of 8 March (online from 18 February)

·         Applications close at 3.00pm Friday 26 March 2010.  

·         Short-Listing on 26-27 March

·         Interviews approx 30-31 March

 

Appointments to commence at the beginning of Term Two (19 April) or as soon as can be arranged.
